Accidentally, On Purpose is a newsletter filled with honest stories about crafting a well-lived life. The closer I walk toward the motherhood portal, the more I find myself seeking my own company. I’m turning inward, craving more solitude than I normally do. I’m realizing that becoming mother is, ultimately, something I must do alone. While I have tremendous support in my husband and others, crossing the bridge from maiden to mother will be a journey only I can take.

As I find myself now likely about eight to nine weeks out from crossing that threshold, more and more I feel called to spend time alone. I thought I would be spending this time with friends, or doing activities that might prove more challenging with a baby. But instead, I’m turning inward, being called to shed the peripheral layers so I can fully be with who I am becoming.
